Early Life and Education

Having finished his engineering degree from Pune University, Indrajit Sabharwal started off at ICL UK (now Fujitsu ICIM) in Pune as a computer designer at a salary of Rs 1,500 per month. During the same period, he pursued three part-time management degrees, making sure he did not lose his grounding.


Entrepreneurial Ventures

Indrajit Sabharwal in January 1992 set up SI Consultants with Rs 10,000 from Delhi. SI Consultants was essentially in business development and IT solution for Modi Lufthansa, Xerox, HP Digital, and Sahara Airlines. After eight months of business, it collected nearly Rs 30 lakh of revenue; here, he also demonstrated himself to be a fine entrepreneur.


Establishment of Simmtronics

He uses his industry knowledge and establishes Simmtronics in 1992. Simmtronics initially began manufacturing and supplying memory modules, DRAM technology, to customers like Tulip Telecomm, HCL, LG, and Sahara. In this period, he expanded its product line that also included motherboards, graphic cards, LED monitors, pen drives, micro SD cards, and hard disk drives.


Global Expansion and Innovation

To cater to the increasing demand, Simmtronics set up manufacturing facilities in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan, and Roorkee. The company also expanded its presence internationally by setting up distribution subsidiaries in Singapore in 2005 and Dubai in 2006. By 2012, Simmtronics had 21 offices in 14 countries with 500 employees. The turnover of the company was Rs 550 crore with a consistent annual profit margin of 10-12%. By March 2012, Simmtronics had unveiled a line of tablets that included 24 in-house customized products to solidify its position as an integrated manufacturing leader and thus ensured its position at the top in the global technological landscape.

With a deep understanding of the disruptive nature of AI, Indrajit Sabharwal has led the integration of AI solutions within Simmtronics' products.
